en 1864 sur les ruines de l\u2019ancien Palais du XVIII\u00e8me si\u00e8cle, se trouve l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9gante mosqu\u00e9e royale Ahl Fas, s\u00e9par\u00e9e du Palais par l\u2019immense esplanade du Mechouar.<br \/>Lors des f\u00eates religieuses ou traditionnelles, il est fr\u00e9quent que le roi traverse le M\u00e9chouar en carrosse ou \u00e0 cheval, pour se rendre \u00e0 la mosqu\u00e9e.<\/p><p>Le roi se rend \u00e0 la mosqu\u00e9e du Palais Royal AHL FAS pour la pri\u00e8re du vendredi, lorsqu\u2019il se trouve \u00e0 Rabat. Derri\u00e8re la mosqu\u00e9e du Mechouar , on aper\u00e7oit la haute silhouette de la mosqu\u00e9e Jemaa As Sounna qui se trouve hors de l\u2019enceinte du Palais.<br \/>Ce m\u00e9chouar a \u00e9t\u00e9 le t\u00e9moin des plus grands \u00e9v\u00e9n\u00e9ments de l\u2019histoire contemporaine du Maroc comme l\u2019accueil par la foule Rbatie du sultan Mohammed Ben Youssef (Mohammed V) de retour d\u2019exil le 16 novembre 1955 ou la\u00a0tentative d\u2019assassinat du sultan\u00a0Ben Arafa (mis au pouvoir par les Fran\u00e7ais en remplacement du sultan Mohammed Ben Youssef) par le r\u00e9sistant Allal Ben Abdellah.<\/p><p>L\u2019enceinte du Palais Royal, le Mechouar, n\u2019est plus d\u00e9sormais accessible au public pour des raisons de s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Seuls les personnes accr\u00e9dit\u00e9es ou les groupes accompagn\u00e9s par les guides officiels y ont acc\u00e8s.<\/p><p>Dommage, mais parfaitement compr\u00e9hensible car ce lieu abrite non seulement la famille royale et les fonctionnaires de la Primature mais aussi les r\u00e9sidences les accueillant, eux et leurs familles, en tout plusieurs milliers de personnes. Toutefois les visiteurs peuvent se rendre au commissariat de police du m\u00e9chouar (entr\u00e9e avenue Yacoub El Mansour) et dans certaines conditions \u00eatre autoris\u00e9s \u00e0 p\u00e9n\u00e9trer dans le m\u00e9chouar pour admirer \u00e0 distance le Palais
